Nine years and counting…

September 9th, 2009 Posted in On the farm | No Comments »

Today, numericaly speaking is a big day for the Chinese. 09/09/2009. Nine is a prosperous number to the Chinese. Turns out, nine is a pretty good number for me too. Today is Julie and My ninth anniversary. Nine years. 3280 some-odd days. They can’t all have been great. I am sure some of those days were pretty shitty. I can’t really remember. It just seems to me that ever since I met Julie, my life has been on a upward trend. Things keep getting better. I really do feel like I am the luckiest person I know. Not only does she help me in every facet of my life, she gave me two of the most amazing people in the world.
Thanks Julie for every thing you give me and do for me. You do more than make this world bearable, you make my life a joy.
I love you Julie.

Writing a book

January 9th, 2009 Posted in On the bus | No Comments »

I have been thinking about this lately, what does it take to write a book?
Well a good idea is important. Literary style can’t be not had. Time. Definitely a large dose of patience. Then you need to get it published, and I haven’t the first idea on that process.
I think I’ll stick to reading books.

In General

Please allow me to make a broad statement. All Golden Gate Transit bus drivers are grumpy. Doesn’t matter the time of the day, the bus route, or the traffic conditions. They are always carrying a look of pissed off-itude. I don’t know what is involved in their jobs. I don’t know what they get paid. But it seems to me that they need an attitude adjustment.
I think it would suck to be perpetualy irratated. I hope they are happy at home.
Just rock in my shoe that I wanted to shake out.
Oh, and someone has nasty BO on this bus today.

VOTE!

November 4th, 2008 Posted in On the bus | No Comments »

I just voted, and at the risk of sounding overly dramatic, I wanted to say that I can’t remember an election were I felt like I had an opportunity to do so much good. Whatever side of the fence you stand on, if you voted, stand proud. For as viciously divided as we can sometimes be, that we can come together and decide our future peacfuly. That is certainly something to take pride in.
Now if you voted differntly than me, you are doing it wrong :P

Hello again.

Life is beautiful

August 4th, 2008 Posted in On the farm | 2 Comments »

I just thought that I would let everyone know that Liam is doing fine and back to his old self.

For those of you who didn’t know, Liam had what the docs call a hernia/hydrocele. This was not a big deal, but needed to fixed surgically, and today was the day. Everything went fine. No complications. In fact the only issue at all was when we were on our way home we stopped at Toys ‘R’ Us for a special gift for the boy. Before we left the hospital (I want to give some big thanks again to the ladies and gents at UCSF. Best people in the world.) Liam’s Fokker (male nurse) gave Liam a grape popsicle. Liam ate the whole thing. It was the first food he had since Sunday at 6pm. Let me just stop here and say thanks and sorry to the people at Toys ‘R’ Us, because the popsicle didn’t make it out of the store.

Other than that, he took a good nap, and he is back to being my Babu.

So the kids are in bed, and I realized in the middle of pushing my lawnmower around, that I don’t need much. A happy and healthy family, a push mower and some lawn, a warm August night, and maybe a cold beer.

Little gifts.

Thanks Brandie for the inspiration.

Julie read a post from Brandie and got a cookie bug. And I would like to thank both ladies for that!

Me and Liam sat in the shade, me on the lawn, him in his cozy coupe, and enjoyed some warm, home made chocolate chip cookies and a tall cold sippycup of milk.

Thanks Mommy!after
